I am passionate about finding healing and meaning in your past, present and future. Counselling has had a profound impact on my life and I consider it a privilege to be part of the healing, change and growth of others. I can fully appreciate the struggle of what counselling can be and how much courage it does take to heal, change and grow

I have worked with many people from different ages and cultural backgrounds.  My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, couples counseling, addiction, sexual abuse, disordered eating, family conflict and family of origin trauma, ADHD, divorce and blended families, stage-of-life issues, grief, and OCD.

I take an eclectic approach in my counseling and believe that no two people are alike, so therefore a tailored approach using a variety of methodologies are used to suit the client. A dynamic interpersonal and relational approach, however, is always at the foundation of my practice. Other theories I enjoy include: Gestalt, Person-centered/Object Relations, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy, CBT, and Attachment Theory.

My qualifications in mental health counselling were gained in the USA. I have an M.A. in counselling and I also have an M.A. in theological studies. I am currently a registered provisional membership of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors.

Our Approach

We counsel from a interpersonal, relational, attachment, and client centered approach. This is because we believe many of the wounds we have incurred and much of the pain we experience has been caused through relationships, and so then, it is primarily through connecting in relationships that much of our healing can occur. It is from this relational foundation that we adopt and employ the strengths found across various counselling models to engage the unique and individual needs of your experiences and in bringing renewed hope to your story.
